You go weak on your arms, collapsing partly on the rails at ether side of you. Your exhausted. This endless cycle, day after day. Your practising and pushing, your lifting yourself as much as you can bare. But it’s not much.
“I know you’ve realised.”
He speaks to you.
But your head remains downcast, your strength has been expended, you are wrecked. Exhausted trying to walk with legs that will not walk. Fed up with trying and failing and falling again.
“I know you have legs, but the truth is, you can’t walk without me. I know you can move yourself a little, but the truth is, you will never walk alone. The truth is that you will always be here, everyday, day after day, working on the physio of your soul. That’s if you want to of course.”
You see friends, the truth is this.
We think we are able bodied, capable of walking through life and journeying independently. But we can not.
The legs of your soul, need physio, they need help, they need encouragement and practice.
You and I, we need the rails that hold us in its grasp, we need to place our hands and our trust, we need to lean heavily on the one who supports us, the one who holds us and sustains us.
If you need to sit down a little then do.
If today, only 1 step you can mange then that is ok.
He is still here, the rails are still standing, holding, waiting.
Waiting for our hands to outstretch again. Waiting for us to lean upon them. Waiting for the leap of faith that we take with each hovered foot. 🦶
Yes we need practice, yes we aren’t perfect, yes we can take a rest.
Yes, he is still here.
Come into your physio time 🕰️ today. Whether that’s to train your muscles one by one, or just to be held.
Isaiah 41:10
10 Don’t be afraid, for I am with you.
Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you and help you.
I will hold you up with my victorious right hand.
Side note 📝
Only a few hours after writing this post, I came home. A letter had arrived for me. I rushed to open it, assuming it was something long awaited.
But it was not.
It was a letter for something I had forgotten about, something requested more than a year ago.
It was a letter for a physio appointment.
No joke.
He has such a sense of humour and what a way of confirmation for me on my post today.
