I’m sure you’ve been here too.
On the wrong side of the title you wanted.
I remember playing netball at primary school. I remember having the position of ‘WD’ wing defence. But I want ‘C’ centre.
I wanted to be front and centre of the game. Not on the side.
I wanted the ability to run across all three parts of the gaming area, opposed to only the two thirds I was allowed.
I wanted a position that wasn’t set me for. A position I wasn’t suited for. I wanted something I couldn’t and shouldn’t touch, because that’s not in the best interest of the team.
My role is where I stand, best suited to my abilities and strengths, taking into consideration my short comings.
In Gods game of life, he has chosen us each, he has decided upon our strengths and shortcomings and he has called our placements.
God has so many games on play, and you have roles in more than one.
You’re in the team of the home game. 🏠
You’re in the team of ministry, you’re in the team of work.
You see God has strength in every area, in every good quality and ability, there he is. It is in my opinion, that God was too much to be embodied in ether gender. There is too much of Gods abilities to be contained in one human.
So in his image we were created, a beautiful collective rainbow 🌈 of every shade of God, every ounce of ability and goodness.
God knows the colour he created you to be in your home life. God knows which position you will play in your ministry team.
It’s okay to not be in the position you most want, because trust that he knows the best place for you. He will use your abilities well if you will allow his placement on your life.
Esther 2:17
17 Now the king was attracted to Esther more than to any of the other women, and she won his favour and approval more than any of the other virgins. So he set a royal crown on her head and made her queen instead of Vashti.
Did Esther want the place within the King’s harem? Probably not. She was probably happy to stay where she lived.
Did Esther desire the position of Queen? Probably not. Maybe she would have preferred a quiet lifestyle, less noticed and more free.
Did the other virgins in the harem wish to have the position of Queen? Probably. Who knows how many others there were.
The point is, God had a plan, a place, a purpose and a position for Esther. One suited to Esther for the team of Israel in that time.
Let’s embrace today, the mundane, let’s embrace the mediocre, let’s embrace the stage of position he has already given us today.
Let’s run with our place in this team today.
