It was just a question.
It was just a line.
It was a moment when Eve pondered herself. It was a look into the image that she was and there was a question mark for more.
It was a question of her identity, it was a question of who she was.
It’s an everyday question of who we are and what we lack.
Satan never shows us the beauty that we have been created in, he never illuminates the purpose in our person. But always he brings a question. He always brings us a question when we take into account the image of ourselves.
You see just like a mirror when we look into the mirror we look at us. We look at ourselves and we wonder are we good enough? Is our hair good enough? is our outfit good enough? will we fit in well enough.
I think we’re looking at the wrong image when we look at ourselves, because when we look at ourselves, we will always fall short and Satan will always remind us that we are not the ‘be and end all’.
We are not the one with all knowing information we are not the one with all power and and authority, we in ourselves, we in our image only a small snippet of who he is his; almighty greatness and his almighty works. We are only a small spec of the beauty that he is.
We are not perfect, but we are person. We are not the mighty, but we are what he made.
There will always be that question of more there will always be that longing for the next step. There will always be that question mark in front of us any time that we look ourselves any time that we look at our image anytime that we look at our lives or will always be the question of what we could do more of, how we could be more. There will always be a question for more.
God never looks at me and says I’m not good enough, God never looks at me and questions my worth, or questions my destiny or questions who I am because he knows who I am. He knows what he created. He knows the purpose of this person. God never questions who I am because he knows who I am and he knows who you are.
And the only way for you to know who you are is to know who he is.
The only way for you to see is to look at him and not yourself.
The only way to reach your destiny is to reach him because he is destiny, he is all, he is the beginning of the end. Let me just remind you gently. Friend let me just touch your arm if you’re looking at yourself in the mirror, 🪞 I often say to my daughter if I see her looking in the mirror don’t look too long. You’ll find something you don’t like.
Friend might it just be that we looking at the wrong thing.
Might it just be that when we look in the mirror, we are looking at the wrong image and we are looking at the wrong person.
Don’t look too long yourself or you just might hear the question of ‘Did God really say that?’
Did God really say that you’re clean?
Did God really say that you’re worth?
Did God really say that you’re loved?
Did he really say that you have purpose?
Does your life really have a plan?
Friend , let’s just stop looking. Let’s stop dwelling on the image. Let us not create with our hands and hearts the golden image of an imperfect God; an image of ourselves.
Let us let us burn up and let us lift our eyes to the real image to the real God to the Almighty one.
Job 42 :5-6
5 I had only heard about you before,
but now I have seen you with my own eyes.
6 I take back everything I said,
and I sit in dust and ashes to show my repentance.”
