As a parent, and maybe your one too? I have learnt that somethings are best learnt first hand.
It’s so easy to tell your child something, but they may never fully understand it, until they are experiencing and seeing it for themselves. With their own eyes, recognition and understanding draws in deep.
When we look to our father for guidance on how to parent well, I see this lesson quietly tucked in between the words of his word.
You see, here is the first lesson God teaches Adam. So I’m going to assume it’s important. Important for us as Gods children to understand but also it’s parenting advice as it’s finest.
Adam, my son, let’s get one thing clear, that’s set the record straight.
What you need my child, you will not find. Not by yourself, a solution not from you but from me. A craftsmanship not made from your hands but from mine.
Let’s see this through your own eyes. 👀 let understanding stink into your very bones.
God, our father, is the only solution to every problem, the maker of answers and the resolution to every need.
What you desire, what you look for, you will not find; except when you look to him.
What a circle ⭕️ Adam done, he checked every animal. 🦔 🦒 🦓 God waited and allowed Adam the time 🕰️ to realise.
Adam would find his solution not in the world around him, but only in Gods hands would his thirst be quenched.
Maybe friend you’ve been like me and you’ve been looking for something you can’t find. Maybe you’ve been searching high and low for the solution to your problem. Maybe you have looked to every possible solution, have you considered every animal to find what you are looking for.
God will wait, don’t worry he has time. He will allow you the opportunity to see first hand, that your answer isn’t here, your answer is in him.
And maybe, he might just draw out from the pit of your stomach what is needed. He might just take matter out from your own well, to create the solution.
Genesis 1:19-22
19Now the LORD God had formed out of the ground all the wild animals and all the birds in the sky. He brought them to the man to see what he would name them; and whatever the man called each living creature, that was its name. 20So the man gave names to all the livestock, the birds in the sky and all the wild animals. But for Adamf no suitable helper was found. 21So the LORD God caused the man to fall into a deep sleep; and while he was sleeping, he took one of the man’s ribsg and then closed up the place with flesh. 22Then the LORD God made a woman from the ribh he had taken out of the man, and he brought her to the man.
I thank you that you are a good good father. You whose patience knows no end. I ask that you will remind us daily, that you are the answer. That only you will provide. You are truly our Jehovah Jireh, he who has provided. Our help comes from you, our solutions come from you. Our everything comes from you.
🙌🙌🙌🙌
And even though we look through the inadequate animals for the means to the end, your provision is much greater, your provision stands high on two legs and is a wonderful image bearer of who you are.
What you provide will have us saying “wow man!” 🤯🤯
