We’ve all been there.
We’ve all approached a tyre that’s lying flat on its side and we’ve tried to lift it. And it’s heavy. It’s nearly immovable, depending on the size of the tyre.
Something that’s designed to run so smoothly, to move so flawlessly, is like a sack of potatoes when it’s lying flat on its face.
And sometimes that’s how I feel. Sometimes I feel like I’m just lying down like a sack of potatoes. Like I’m just lying down, immobilised. Like my purpose is not being driven. And it’s in moments like these, when I feel this way, I realize tyres don’t move by themselves.
Tyres move through the mechanisms that’s deeply ingrained within the car. Tyres don’t lift themselves. Tyres don’t spin themselves. This wonderful creation of a moving circle, of a distance taker, a movement maker, this wonderful thing, cannot move itself.
It needs the power of a car. It needs the mechanisms of a car, inside that car. It needs powered from the gas. This wonderful thing will not lift itself up. So Father, I ask you to lift us up. I ask you, father, to put us in place. I ask you father, to run us with your mechanisms, to fuel ⛽️ us with the power of your gas.
I ask you to pick us up and put us in place, put us in purpose, put us in motion, because there is no life where you are not there. Tyres will not run by themselves. They need the car, they need the gas, and they need the driver. And all I am is a vessel.
All I am is a carrier. All I am is immovable without you moving me. That’s what I am. I am nothing without you. I am immovable without you. Where you are, there is life. Where you are, there is movement. I ask you father to pick us up and put us in place.
And start running us. Because we have races to run. And I don’t want to be the tyre that’s just lying flat on the side of the road like a sack of potatoes. I want to go. I want to move and I want to drive.
Pick us up.
Pick me up.
Put me back in place. And roll me. Let’s roll. Thank you.
If you’re feeling flat friend, I promise he’s got plenty of air flow to inflate your very being. 🙌 🙌 🙌
Ephesians 2:4-10
4 But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, 5 made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved. 6 And God raised us up with Christand seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus, 7 in order that in the coming ages he might show the incomparable riches of his grace, expressed in his kindness to us in Christ Jesus. 8 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—9 not by works, so that no one can boast. 10 For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.
